The fire escape is up as well, although I have to say I was somewhat disturbed to see a few extra screws laying around, which my experience with IKEA tells me is never a good sign (see bottom pic).

I'd prefer a metal fire escape with a few screws missing to a wooden one with all the nails every day of the week. That's what always amazed me about Chicago's older (and some of the new ones) constructions... wooden fire emergency stairways... disturbing.
